John Kroger is a former US Marine and federal prosecutor who has tried high profile cases against Enron and organized crime. John is also an educator, currently teaching criminal law and legal philosophy at Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland. John and his fiancé live in Portland.Oregon needs an attorney general who will take on powerful interests and hold them accountable when they break the law. I will work hard every day to fight on behalf of workers, consumers and parents.The Attorney General is our state’s top law enforcement official. The fundamental responsibilities of the Attorney General are to enforce Oregon law, aggressively investigate wrongdoing, and serve as legal counsel to state government.The individual Oregonians elect as their next Attorney General will have broad authority on a whole range of legal issues that impact OEA, including civil rights, collective bargaining, PERS, election and initiative reform, and consumer protection.
