Kansas Dmv
Recently, the Kansas Department of Revenue (KDOR) implemented a new multi-step procedure for
international students wanting to apply for or to renew a driver’s license. You can most efficiently
comply with the policy and avoid a second or third trip to the DMV office if you:
Fill out the “SAVE Verification-Request-Form.” Scan a copy of the form and scan copies of your I-20, I-94, visa, and passport biographical information page. Students with OPT authorization should also send a copyoftheir OPT card (employment authorization document). Email the scanned form and documents toLAWFULPRESENCE@KDOR.STATE.KS.US . You can also hand-carry your documents to the local DMV office to be snail-mailed to KDOR for you, or you can snail-mail them directly to the Driver’s License Bureau address on the reverse side of this form, but emailing them directly is most efficient. Students with OPTauthorization should indicate this in the email and ask that the A number on the OPT card (employmentauthorization document) be used as an alternative to the SEVIS number on the I-20 for SAVE verification.
